Winners announced October 13th (not me unfortunately)

AC/DC has announced there will be a 'secret' gig shortly before the Black Ice tour opens. They have also announced a number of contents to try and win tickets to this gig, one being Show Us Your AC/DC. I decided to go for this one as I thought I had a decent idea, so here is the story of what I did and how I did it.

September 11
I first found out about the competition. I had a few vague ideas of what I wanted to do, starting with putting the logo on my garage door. I didn't think that would be big enough to stand a chance, so I tried to come up with something else. Then I hit upon making a big-ass sign and hanging off of the building I work in. After I got off work and went home, I headed back to the office and took some pictures of the different sides of the building. I downloaded the logo and Photoshop-ed it into place and thought it looked pretty good...and could be done.

I figured I'd ask my boss for permission to hang this sign off of the building before I started working on it, so I went into her office and explained what I wanted to try. She was all for it and really cool about the whole thing, but did give me 2 requirements:
  1. Don't get arrested
  2. Don't fall off the damn roof
With that, I left work for the day to try and figure out where to find my supplies.

September 13
I took part of the morning to try and figure out where to get big sheets/rolls of paper. I started at Office Max and Michael's here in town with no luck, and decided to give a small art & school supply store a shot. I walked into the converted house to find 4 foot wide by 50 feet long rolls of white paper. After making a rough guess on what I'd need, I grabbed a few extra and was off. In all, I bought 4 rolls of paper. At Michael's, I did end up finding the paint I was looking for so it wasn't a wasted trip.
