happy new year!
^%First Name|1%^,
So starts another year with acdc-bootlegs.com and acdc-videos.com. There have been big changes across acdc-bootlegs.com, and the upcoming year will hopefully see big changes to acdc-videos.com as well. So here we go with the first newsletter of the new year.
san francisco 1990 rings in the new year as the botm
The January BOTM comes to you from San Francisco, CA, recorded on December 14, 1990. This was the first leg of the legendary Razor's Edge tour, and the band was young and getting the kinks worked out. This one includes a number of great songs, including Who Made Who, Sin City and The Razor's Edge, that weren't played on every stop of the tour. This was one of the last stops of the year for the band, and it sounds like they put on a hell of a show! Click here to go to the BOTM page.
tnt & santa are still on acdc-videos.com
Getting back to normal, we're finishing off the remainder of the December videos. If you haven't grabbed it already, you can still download TNT, taken from Largo (Landover, MD) on December 21, 1981. This clip is pro shot and features Santa and even a reindeer as the band closes out the show. Check it out here! This clip is available for the reset of the week, and the new video will go up January 6. Be sure to come back then and see what is available then!
january dvd give-away
The first DVD Give-Away of 2008 brings you the opening night from the Ballbreaker tour. This video, recorded in Greensboro, NC on January 12, 1996. Unfortunately, it's not the entire show, but it's still a special recording to see the band on the opening night of the tour. The DVD Give-Away goes back to normal this month as well, so you can only get your entries in once per day until January 21. Click Here to sign up today!
a few stats for the month of december, 2007
After an insanely busy December, it'll be nice (for me, at least) to get the site schedule back to normal. It took quite a big effort to make sure things were in the right place and available, but it was also a lot of fun doing it. Here are a few stats for you from last month:
- Average of 1,001 visits per day
- 31,035 total visits for the month
- 150.7 gb of data downloaded (I had to increase my monthly alotment twice so the site wouldn't get shut down)
- Approximately 1,700 total downloads of the BOTM's
- The Concert History was the most popular section of the site
- Visits from approximately 87 different countries
These numbers just blow me away. Thanks for such an amazing amount of support for the site.
looking back on 2 years with acdc-videos.com
It was 2 years ago today that I put acdc-videos.com back on the internet. Gui had run it for many years before letting me have the domain, and I was more than happy to bring it back and continue the tradition. I have yet to make any decisions on the future of the site yet, but I hope to start planning soon on new sections and new information that will be available to help answer any questions on the video recordings of the band. The site has seen little change in the last 2 years, so I feel it's time to take it to the next level (similar to the updates I made on acdc-bootlegs.com last fall). Whatever happens, look for some big improvements over the next few months. With this re-design, I will try to take in requests from members to make sure you get what you want!
looking forward for the next year
The upcoming year looks exciting. I will keep working to move the sites forward; no question there. The sites give me the opportunity to try new things and also supplies me with snippets of code I can reuse elsewhere. I'm also working on another music-related site that I hope to have out in the first quarter of the year, so that will be another great resource (hopefully). Along with a few 'money maker' sites I maintain, my plate is pretty full. So why do I put so much time into this? The answer is simple. I'm a fan, and it's my way of supporting the band. For a while (roughly during the 90's) I really lost interest in the band. I was a fan, but didn't pursue anything aside from the official stuff. These sites really brought me around as a fan again, and I'm trying to bring that same feeling to others as well. It's my way of sharing the knowledge & sharing the love of the music. That and I just have a lot of fun doing it, so I can't complain!
That's it for now, I will be in touch with the next newsletter at the start of February. Until then, enjoy the BOTM and the vids!
