no april fools here!
On a rainy afternoon here in Fargo, I figured I'd get things put together on time (which is really unusual for me). The house is quiet for once and I'm sitting back enjoying a basketball game, so no better time to get this month's newsletter & BOTM ready to go. So here's what's going on with the sites.
april botm is providence 1985
With a lot of people bickering about not having anything new, I decided to dig into 'The Vault' and see what I could find that hadn't been passed around too much yet. I found this show, recorded in Providence, Rhode Island, on November 22, 1985. It's not a great quality recording, but does feature 3 songs from Fly on the Wall, as well as the attitude that Brian Johnson brought to the band in that era. Don't get your hopes up on the quality of this one; this is more for the collectors than the casual fans, but hopefully everyone will enjoy this one! Click here to go to the BOTM page.
1985 video on acdc-videos.com too
The current video up for downloading on acdc-videos.com is from Pittsburgh, PA, recorded on September 10, 1985. This video is one of the few from 1985, but the quality just isn't that great. The song is Shoot to Thrill (one of my personal favorites from the Brian Johnson era), and is shot from right in front of the stage. Feel free to check it out here.
april dvd give-away
The DVD Give-Away for April features a great recording from April 20, 1991 in Glasgow, Scotland. This show features one of AC/DC's tributes to Glasgow. They play 'Bonny' just about every time they play in Glasgow. I beleive they play it right before Highway to Hell, but I can't remember for sure since it's not in my notes. Anyways, this Give-Away is open until April 21st. Get signed up once per day for your chance to win from the home page of acdc-bootlegs.com.
time to get to work
I was hoping to have more time to work on the new design for acdc-bootlegs.com, but have come into a lot of work, between my full time job, other wesbsites as well as my family (which is by far the most important time I get). I did get a good start on it, and have most of the new Concert History (Venue Listing) finished, as well as the member sign in system and a few other things. I've put a big effort into making this new site very organized and easy for me to manage, so hopefully the hard work now will pay off in the future. For now, there isn't much else to say about it. I believe the new design looks great, but everyone has their own opinion so we'll see how it goes across when the time comes. In the next few months, my time on it as well as the existing sites will be short as I have a number of commitments to fulfill, but will definitely be around and post updates when I can. If nothing else, the BOTM is up and available for you to enjoy.
happy birthday angus!
And finally, since I'm writing this on March 31st, I just wanted to send out a Happy Birthday wish to everyone's favorite 52 year old school boy, Angus Young. That's a whole lotta candles on a birthday cake! Enjoy yourself.
That's it for now, have a good month!
